Ensuring Your Wishes Are Known When It Matters Most

Making decisions about your medical care—especially regarding Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) directives—is deeply personal. You take the time to put your wishes in writing to protect your peace of mind and relieve your loved ones of difficult burdens during critical moments.

However, in a high-stress medical emergency, time is measured in seconds. Paramedics and first responders are trained to act immediately to save lives. If they cannot quickly find or verify your DNR directive, they are obligated to begin resuscitation—even if that contradicts your true wishes. A document stored in a filing cabinet at home cannot protect you when an emergency happens elsewhere.

Bridging the Gap in Emergency Care

This platform was created to ensure your medical directives and emergency contact details are accessible the exact moment they are needed.

By encoding your DNR instructions and emergency contact details into a clear, instant-scan QR code, you bridge the vital gap between your private wishes and first responders on the scene.

Carrying Your Voice With You

Your QR code is designed to fit seamlessly into your everyday life. Users frequently display or carry their emergency codes on:

  • Wallet Cards: Tucked behind a driver’s license or ID card where first responders routinely look.
  • Medical Alert Jewelry: Etched onto or attached to bracelets, tags, or necklaces.
  • Personal Belongings: Printed on keychains, phone cases, or kept inside a purse or jacket pocket.
  • Any other way you think! Let us know how you intend to use your code, and we will add it to this list.

Built with Care and Respect

We understand the sensitive nature of the information you entrust to us. Every tool on this site is built with dignity, privacy, and user control at its core—giving you and your family confidence that your voice will be heard when it counts most.

Why does this site exist?

As the baby boomer generation is aging, many parents are considering their end-of-life wishes. The idea behind this site was born of a discussion on end-of-life wishes between the lead developer and his parents, regarding their DNR instructions. It was mentioned that emergency responders will almost definitely not know your DNR instructions, even though this could be the most important time they be known.
Our developer realized that QR codes provided a technical solution to storing this info, and so this website was created to provide the tool for free, in the hopes that it can benefit our own parents as well as anyone else who wants their DNR Instructions to be known.
This is not a corporate site. It runs purely on donations, that we hope can cover the base costs to keep it running.
